Re-Blog: Ancient Spaceports In Iraq? Ya Don’t Say?!

(Originally posted 9/28/2017 on Read With The Gringa)

Well, the gringa’s at it again… de-bunking UFO conspiracies. Sorry to spoil everyone’s fun. But, I assure you that there is no ancient alien connection inspiring countries like the US to embark on military strategies in order to gain control of Iraq. A review of the “evidence” will prove this to be so.

We’ve all heard of the stories of how Iraq’s antiquities have been looted because of the long, on-going conflict in that country. The nation is a wealth of history and artifacts. Iraq was once the famed Babylon of old. It was the heart of education, art, religion and science.

A diverse, cosmopolitan population was comprised of the brightest minds invited to come and enrich the academic world of ancient Babylon. Artists, composers, and every other creative mind once longed for those dreamy deserts and never-ending horizons of the Middle East. But the knowledge and the scientific and cultural advancements that accompanied higher thinking is not to be credited to space alien influence.

Ancient alien theorists and UFOlogists are attributing ancient spaceship launches to a speech recently delivered by Iraq’s Transport Minister. What, exactly, did this man say? Was there something misunderstood in translation? Was he speaking in satire rather than literally? Let’s examine the words of Minister Kadhem Finjan Al-Hamami when he spoke at the opening ceremony of a new airport in Dhi Qar of southern Iraq:

“It’s a long story, maybe you don’t know about it. Maybe even people from Dhi Qar don’t know – the first airports that were built on planet Earth were built in the 5th Millenium BC in Dhi Qar. There were Sumerians who launched spaceships and headed to other worlds.”

Al-Hamami’s remarks were met with confusion by the panel behind him as well as the people in the audience. It also turns out that he has a reputation for making outrageous statements. He once claimed that he was so old that he had also ridden on Noah’s Ark. Needless to say, the gringa doubts he really believes this Sumerian spaceship nonsense. What he more likely believes is political strategy.

What would be politically strategic about making such an outrageous claim? Why risk your political integrity and credibility? Well, one reason would be to normalize a fringe belief on behalf of a benefactor that has a vested interest in normalizing something otherwise considered crazy.

The theory that Sumerians were more than scientists, architects and astronomers as well as space travelers is the work of Russian professor Samuel Kramer. Russia has a desire to gain influence in Iraq in order to protect its big oil interests more effectively. And what better way to stroke the national ego of a country than to provide historical information that proves that country had once been superior to every other country on the planet?

But why the space alien angle? Because it can neither be proven or disproven, for one thing. But Russia has been working to normalize space alien theories for decades. Why? For Russia, it would mean opportunity. In fact, many opportunities.

Who are the nations that represent the largest threat to Russian dominance? The US and allied western European nations. The discovery of space alien life would throw such nations into an existential crisis. For countries structured around Judeo-Christianity, their societies would suddenly be in cultural upheaval. Everything they believed would become falsehood. And in such chaos is opportunity to then re-form an entire society’s thinking.

And if those society’s learned that their governments had been keeping such a secret, those governments would no longer be trusted. There would be political revolution. And before that revolution stabilized into a new national version based on new knowledge, there would be years and years of factional division and chaos.

If this past year’s political chaos has not made a believer out of a person that Russia thrives when other nations are in chaos, then you have been sleeping straight through history being made. And Russia is wholly committed to the space alien angle as just one more way to keep everyone else knocked off balance and distracted from what Russia is really doing.

Over and over Russian operatives seed explosive space alien related stories. In 2010 they claimed to have discovered alien micro-organisms in comet space dust. 2014 brought an announcement from Russia’s International Space Station mission chief, Vladimir Solovyev, that space sea plankton had been found. NASA denied the reports but no such denial ever was issued from Rocosmos, Russia’s space agency. And about one month later, Germany’s space agency, The German Aerospace Center (DLR), called the material “bacterial DNA” rather than sea plankton.

So, when it comes to what may seem very credible reports because they link with what seems to be a legitimate organization, the gringa says, “Beware!” Although, so far, Americans have been lucky enough to have our own NASA unblemished by political agendas and ambitions, the same is not true for Rocosmos. That being said, trace back to the source any UFO or space alien claims. If they originate from Russia, consider the political motive. Then consider the scientific credibility as dubious.

The gringa does not deny the possibility that space aliens exist. I also don’t deny the possibility of ancient Earth civilizations that were highly advanced. But, thus far, I have yet to find any confirmation through credible evidence. I simply keep an open mind and I keep reading! And I always  READ SMART!

Re-Blog: Do Space Aliens Use Aluminum?

(Originally posted 9/21/2017 on Read With The Gringa)

The famous 1947 Roswell incident of a supposed crashed alien spacecraft reported curious details. Rancher W.W. “Mack” Brazel described the debris he found as: large pieces of paper covered in what looked like tinfoil. The pieces were held together by small sticks. The salvaged piece of debris resembled a child’s homemade kite. Throughout a 200 yard area surrounding the silvery kite thing were pieces of gray rubber. More kite-like objects were found on the ranch, the largest about 3 feet across.

Another, more recent, discovery has researchers scratching their heads over a mysterious aluminum object. UFOlogists claim that it could be 250,000 years old. It was originally discovered in Romania during a 1973 excavation of the Mures River.

Three strange objects were found buried about 33 feet. Archaeologists studied them and determined that two of the finds were fossils. They were bones belonging to a mammal that became extinct about 90,000 years ago.

The third, however, could only be man-made since it was a metallic object, not a raw metal ore. Testing revealed 12 different metals with aluminum making up about 90% of the manufactured object.

A Romanian laboratory claimed the object was about 250,000 years old. Other experts were in disbelief so another set of tests were performed in a laboratory in Lausanne, Switzerland. They confirmed that the object is, indeed, old, but not that old. Only 400-80,000 years old. But aluminum was first produced by modern man about 200 years ago.

This head scratcher centers on an object about 8 inches long, 5 inches wide and nearly 3 inches thick. It also has a circular depression and machined holes in the “arms”, suggesting hinging. This means the manufacturing process would have been very complex. So what the heck is it?

9.21.2a

UFOlogists say it is a fragment from a UFO. Of course. Historians claim that it is really a piece of WWII German aircraft. Considering the effective debunking that has cleared up the Roswell mystery, the gringa is inclined to agree with the historian.

The US Air Force eventually explained to the public what it was that Brazel found. It wasn’t the debris of a crashed UFO. It was the debris of weather radar targets.

These targets were sent up to help target and tune ballistics of heavy gun and artillery. Regular weather balloons were acquisitioned from weather radar stations. The balloons were then customized to become targets, covered in aluminum so they would be easier to sight high in the sky.

In order for it to even be possible for aluminum debris from a crashed UFO to be found, aluminum would have to be a raw material on other planets. It would have to be mined. It would have to be processed. And it would have to be suitable for use on a spacecraft exposed to the extreme conditions of outer space: radiation, heat, cold, etc.

Aluminum is also found on Mercury, Venus and Mars. So it’s possible there are planets in the vastness of outer space that also have aluminum. We know that there are no aluminum mines and processing plants and spaceship manufacturing plants on Mercury, Venus and Mars. That would mean any UFO constructed of aluminum would have to originate outside our Solar System. Could aluminum handle such a rigorous test of its mettle (pardon the pun)?

Aluminum melts at 1,220.58 degrees Fahrenheit. It boils at 4,566 degrees Fahrenheit. Space shuttle re-entry has recorded surface temperatures of the craft as high as 3,000 degrees Fahrenheit. Needless to say, if these bits of aluminum had originated from a crashed UFO, they wouldn’t exist. They would have melted long before they ever reached the earth’s surface.

The final answer is then: No. Space aliens are not using aluminum in their space ships and crashing them on Earth and leaving behind an aluminum bread crumb trail. Case solved.

Re-Blog: Secret Codes, Medieval Medicine & Witches

(Originally posted 9/19/2017 on Read With The Gringa)

Who uses secret codes? Kids with secret hide-outs, spies, secret societies, lovers, criminals, etc. Was there a secret society during Medieval times who created a complex secret code, the size of a hefty novel, that has still not been cracked? Linguistics, cryptographic and translation experts say no. And the gringa wants to know why since they still haven’t “cracked the code” of a centuries old manuscript. How would they know what they don’t know?

The Voynich manuscript is really a book, like a huge paperback novel. Within those soft vellum covers are pages of astrological charts,

9.19.2b

naked women bathing in mysterious green liquids,

9.19.2c

and strange, unknown flora.

9.19.2a

Describing all of these curiosities is a secret code that has yet to be solved.

So what kind of information is being shared? Is it dangerous? Taboo? Subject to blackmail? Why would the author go to such trouble as to pen this tome in an unreadable language? Most authors know that it is publish or perish. To publish in a tongue that can never be known by the general public is the same as not publishing at all. What in the world is this book about?

One literary expert suggests that, because of the illustrations of naked ladies taking baths, perhaps it was a health manual that challenged the medical trends of that era. The author might possibly have faced legal charges as serious as witchcraft for practicing questionable herbal remedies. Is that what is in the book? Recipes for herbal treatments of feminine ailments?

This expert’s theory has been widely rejected by the literary community at large. A community, mind you, that has already committed much time and effort to decoding the manuscript. Is their reaction just sour grapes? Has Nicholas Gibbs, a professional researcher of history and war artist, hit upon the truth and spoiled their fun and shot at glory?

In addition to his professional credentials he also has experience evaluating precious curiosities, having worked for the famed Christie’s auction house. But, even more compelling for the gringa, is his biological connection to his working theory. He is a descendant of one of England’s most famous ancient herbalists, Thomas Fromond. And it was the work of his famed ancestor that helped guide Gibbs in his theory.

So, despite the criticisms of his peers, and their claims that his theory is purely satire, their own findings actually seem to support the Gibbs’ theory. After much examination of the flora illustrations, astrological charts and naked ladies bathing depictions, Gibbs’ critics admit that these elements are health related.

These critics also accede that the Voynich manuscript is very similar to a medieval bathing guide, De Balneis Puteolanis. But their main point of criticism is his accomplishment where they otherwise failed. Gibbs actually decoded two lines of the manuscript. So what is the problem?

The critics claim that his translation into Latin is not grammatically correct. The gringa says, “Really?” I mean, dear reader, come on. When the gringa needs to keep on schedule, she might ask an English speaking friend, “What time is it?” If around Spanish speaking friends, the gringa would say, “Que hora es?” Guess what the literal translation of the Spanish is in English… What hour is. Which is NOT grammatically correct in English. So, the gringa doesn’t buy the grammatically incorrect translation complaint.

Then there’s the fact that the lines Gibbs decoded weren’t actually comprised of complete words. He was decoding characters that represented abbreviated words. Kind of like if the gringa used the “#” symbol to represent the “1/2 tbsp” abbreviation in my own secret code. The secret code was never intended to be grammatically correct. Come on, people. Stop being jealous because a rookie on the scene showed you up.

And what of the theory for why a ladies health manual would need to be written in a secret code to begin with? It is carbon-dated to a point of origin in Northern Italy around 1404-1438. What was going on that might make secret communications of controversial subjects necessary? Here are a few historical facts for perspective:

-During this time period there was no clear identity for physicians in Europe.

-When universities established medical studies during the Middle Ages, women were excluded.

-Women healers were forced to go underground to practice except when filling the role of midwife.

-Most women preferred to be attended by a trusted midwife for other feminine health issues, albeit secretly.

-Women training other women as healers had to be creatively covert in the materials used to pass along and preserve knowledge.

-Women healers caught practicing or teaching medicine were acting outside the law and subject to prosecution.

-Prosecution of a woman healer usually involved the woman being charged with the crime of witchcraft.

-The crime of witchcraft was a capital offense with a death sentence attached.

Understanding the environment in which the Voynich manuscript was crafted, the gringa is convinced that it is indeed, a ladies health guide. Despite bearing the surname of the Polish man who purchased the manuscript in 1912 after its discovery in an Italian monastery, the gringa believes the manuscript was most likely authored by a woman healer working outside the law. The code was the result of this female healer fearing for her life if caught. So vital was it for this woman healer to pass on her knowledge to another generation of female healers, she created a complex secret code that has puzzled linguistic experts for centuries.

When you think about the witchcraft connection, the secret code for a ladies health manual makes perfect sense. Mystery solved. Thanks Gibbs.

Where The US Trains Terrorists & Assassins

In a few of the gringa’s recent blog posts, I’ve suggested that things don’t always seem to be as they appear with regard to US foreign policy. I used the term “hegemony” to describe the true philosophy behind US actions of interference with other countries. So what other kinds of sinister programs is the US responsible for? The next few posts will explore some of the nation’s dark operation history. This time, we’ll explore “The Assassin’s University”.

As the CIA and US government was riding high on the success of Operation Ajax, they threw this energy into the development of a plan to streamline implementing the same type of program worldwide. The goal was to respond to complaints of American and European companies invested in foreign nations. Although the US government publicly sells regime change as “restoring democracy”, it is actually preserving corporate profits for American companies and the companies of US allies. The typical scene usually goes down something like this:

  • A US or European ally has a company invested in a foreign nation.
  • The foreign nation has a corrupt government that favors the foreign corporate interest over the interest of their own people.
  • Eventually this corruption leads to the government falling out of favor with the local populace.
  • As the client government begins to lose power and influence over its population, political rivals arise who have the voter base to win a democratic election.
  • Usually a political rival becomes popular with a dissatisfied populace by promising nationalization of assets to favor the interests of the natives rather than foreign investors.
  • Foreign investors complain to the US and a dark operation swings into action to save profits through varying degrees of violent resistance and action.

This should all sound very familiar to the dear reader. Throughout history this pattern has repeated itself a number of times in various places:

  • 1954 – Guatemala
  • 1955 – Cambodia
  • 1958, 1959, 1960 – Series of Laos governments
  • 1960-1963 – Ecuador
  • 1960 – Congo
  • 1962-1964 – Brazil, Dominican Republic, Bolivia & Indonesia

How was the US government so successful, year after year? By creating what was called within the CIA by the codename “KUBARK“. KUBARK was more than the name of the operation. It was also the title of a how-to manual on how to use terrorism to bring about regime change. Within the book’s 128 pages readers learned how to most effectively torture prisoners for the extraction of information among other means to terrorize and brutalize a people into submission. Yeah, this didn’t all start with Abu Ghraib. The US has been torturing people through an organized strategy for more than half a century.

It seems impossible for most Americans to believe that their nation not only sponsors terrorism, but actively engages in it and trains others how to do it. After all, look at how free and protected American citizens are when they protest and rabble rouse. But that, too, is all part of the plan. The truth is, this secret warfare is not really so secret. And according to the guidelines of how this secret warfare is waged, it is also uncontrolled and unaccountable to the American public.

Regime change throughout Central and South America was performed with great fervor, especially after the US government funded the CIA to set-up the School of the Americas, the official name of the “School of Assassins”. The purpose of the academy was not to instruct southern neighbors of the US how to better preserve democracy and build a strong capitalist economy. The School of the Americas was an advanced training academy to mold future revolutionaries and professional assassins who would become valuable US assets for maintaining control of countries and dishing out fierce retribution if they dared to go rogue, acting in their own interest rather than US corporate interest.

One would think such a school would be concealed in the remote, deep jungles of a South American country. Guess what? The US government was so secure in the blindness and disinterest of US citizens that the school was established in Fort Benning, Georgia. The US government knew that its own population was sufficiently busy earning a living and adequately distracted with all the freedoms and luxuries they enjoy that it would never occur to them to question their country’s activities around the world. Even if they did, the nation was also so skilled at crafting propaganda to condition Americans to believe that their nation was the “good guy”, protecting vulnerable people around the world, most Americans wouldn’t even believe the truth if they did manage to stumble upon it.

So you would think that such a dark op program would mean limiting the agencies involved. Contrary to that logic, it wasn’t the CIA that was running the show at the School of Americas, training future terrorists. It was the Green Berets. Yeah, those special forces teams the US government and mass media always hail as heroes to be worshiped, adored and emulated? Yeah, they are responsible for some of the most heinous acts of terrorism our world has ever known. They either perpetrated it themselves or provided the knowledge and training for others to do it. If you don’t believe the gringa’s words, then believe the historical evidence produced by just two of the academy’s prize graduates: Manuel Noriega and Emilio Eduardo Massera. “Who were they?” the dear reader asks.

Noriega was a military officer from Panama who, thanks to the US, became a famous military dictator in Panama. The most ironic twist in his dramatic tale is that after being carefully groomed by the US in the bloodiest and cruelest military tactics, his instructors turned on him.

After graduating, he returned home and put his new skills to good use. He became one of the most feared men in his native county, even mounting an assassination of a political opponent. He achieved great power by partnering with drug cartels.

Although powerful, he was unpopular. This led to him cancelling elections and ruling the nation through a puppet government. At least, until his old friends from the US invaded his country, captured him, then brought him back to America to stand trial for a host of crimes. He eventually served time in US prisons, then French prisons and, finally, returned to Panama to serve more time there. The moral of Noriega’s story is, “Don’t get too big for your britches and don’t ever think that the US is really your friend.”

Emilio Eduardo Massera was the commander of what is known in Argentina as the “dirty war”. Some of the tricks of the terror trade he learned from US Green Berets:

  • Crafting propaganda using words like “duty”, “patriotism” and “sacrifice” to silence critics and control masses of what threaten to become unruly citizens
  • Creation of “capuchas” which were dark, underground cells for holding blindfolded prisoners, chained and shackled, concealed throughout the country making it easy to quickly take a dissident into custody and get them out of sight, never to be seen again.
  • The prisoners, called “paquetes”, were routinely tortured. One means was a disgusting twist on water-boarding (a term, thanks to Abu Ghraib Americans are finally familiar with). Paquetes would have their heads held under a stream of urine and feces until they thought that they would drown.
  • Perhaps the swiftest means of torture unto death was to receive the “desaparecer” treatment (to “disappear). Dissident citizens were kidnapped, drugged, put on a plane then tossed out, usually into the sea. It is estimated that US trained military terrorist Massera murdered about 10,000 Argentine citizens in this manner.

Now, considering that Massera and Noriega lost power in the 80s, one might think that the School of the Americas is old news. Should US citizens really be concerned about the School of Americas?

The Democrat party made the closure of this US terror academy such a priority that the party included a mandate for closure as part of the party’s platform in 2016. Interesting that in all the hubbub of headlines created by Trump about defeating terrorism, the US media never elaborated on this mandate promised by Clinton’s party about ending the nation’s own role in global terrorism.

Would the dear reader like to know what actually happened with the School of the Americas? It’s still operational. However, most likely as a result of the Democratic party platform highlighting the nature of this US terror academy and many activist groups who have campaigned for its closure, the Republicans did a very peculiar thing this past January after Trump took office. They re-branded the terror organization’s image.

Many opponents of the School of Americas may have breathed a sigh of relief, believing that the School of Americas was finally closed down. Nope. It just changed its name as well as management. On January 17, the same facility re-opened under the name “Western Hemisphere Institute for Security Cooperation”, managed by the Defense Department. But it is still the same school commonly called by CIA operatives “School of Assassins”.

Who can a concerned citizen turn to about a US sponsored and run academy on US soil training terrorists? Concerned citizens can turn to the main activist group committed to putting an end to the US being the enabling and empowering shadow behind global terrorism. Representative Joe Moakley of Massachusetts was the main figure behind Congressional efforts to close this site. His passing in 2001 has passed the torch along to School of Americas Watch (SOAW) to continue these efforts and bring about the world’s greatest hope for peace, closure of this terror academy once and for all.

If you contact the terror academy yourself, expect a load of crap propaganda to be delivered by a slick, smooth-talking Army official well-trained to convince you that, because of the academy’s efforts, human rights have improved throughout Latin America. They will claim it’s a COUNTER-terrorism academy.

That’s when you can ask him about Noriega and Massera as well as these well known terrorists: Omar Torrijos of Panama, Hugo Banzer Suarez of Bolivia, and Leopoldo Galtieri of Argentina. Also ask about past graduates who assassinated Archbishop Oscar Romero of El Salvador in 1980 and the slaughtered 900 peasants in the El Mozote massacre. And don’t forget to ask about the 6 Jesuit priests that were murdered by graduates from the School of the Americas in 1989.

If you despise war and terrorism, before you start pointing fingers at who your government tells you is the bad guy, stop and ask why so many terrorists hate the US. Ask why so many activists claim that the US sponsors terrorism. Ask where these terrorists who seem to have no formal government structure or geographical boundaries get their sophisticated American made weapons. Ask why the US gets involved in so many “regime changes” and invades other countries. Ask how Americans are really at risk from people thousands of miles away who would have to cross multiple border barriers to ever get here and cause us harm.

But why doesn’t the US mainstream media report on this and expose the ugly truth? Wouldn’t investigative reporting be the responsible thing to do? Wouldn’t that expose the root of terrorism and enable the nation to purge this from our national fabric? The mainstream media will never report on this because it would then expose the culpability of the corporations who own them. These same corporations that own large media networks are funded by corporate advertisers who have their own interests protected by the actions of this US terrorism school. So, dear readers, the average US citizen is on their own to discover the truth and act on behalf of humanity.

And don’t believe the tripe from Washington when supporters of the School of Assassins claim that the US can’t be held responsible for what their graduates do when they leave. The US is not stupid. They know exactly what they are doing and this school for training terrorists is all part of a plan. It is all part of how the nation practices its policy of hegemony which requires terror and violence to maintain the wealth gathered through natural resource exploitation and slave wages in foreign countries which, in turn, makes a globally dominant military possible, and enable the US to keep up the appearance of clean hands.

If You Can’t Trust The CIA, Who Can You Trust?

Conspiracy theories seem to be taking center stage in American politics these days. That being said, the current president seems to find conspiracies believable. Now, why do so many people believe conspiracy theories? When Trump makes an outrageous claim with no evidence to back it up, why are there so many people jumping on the bandwagon?

Maybe it’s because some of the institutions in our country that should be reliable have done things that have damaged their credibility. When agencies like the Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) lose public trust, then it’s easier to turn to conspiracy theories as reliable information. So how bad have the “good guys” become?

The CIA was created in 1947. It’s job has been to collect and analyze information about foreign nationals, organizations, businesses and government officials on the down-low. No one is supposed to know they are being spied on. However, thanks to whistle-blowers and the viral nature of the worldwide web, many of their nasty, little secrets have been revealed. And now, the CIA may have to suffer the consequences of being damaged goods unworthy of public trust.

Now, the gringa understands that the spy business is a nasty business. No one likes a snoop, a snitch or a turncoat. But, the reality is, if a country wants to know what the enemy is up to, spies are necessary. We may despise a spook, but without them, we would all be much more vulnerable. But what do we do if our spy community takes advantage of secrecy to abuse their broad authority? What if that results in our “good guys” morphing into the “bad guys”? Well, then the whole world is in trouble. For anyone to be truly safe, it has to be clear who, exactly, the good guys are.

Operation Ajax: Many people today may not even think about a serious power struggle in Iran that took place more than half a century ago. In 1951, the current Shah, Reza Pahlavi, survived an attempt on his life. It’s possible this assassination plan was cooked up by none other than his Prime Minister who wanted to reduce the Shah’s power. The CIA took interest because of, what else, oil. Particularly a British oil company, AIOC.

The Shah’s opposition considered this foreign oil company’s presence just one step too close to invasive British imperialism. Prime Minister Mohammad Mosaddegh demanded an audit which AIOC refused. What’s a Prime Minister to do when his authority is insulted? Seize the company and make it a national asset.

The 1950s was the height of the Cold War. Every European nation, including the great island of the UK, kept oil supplies ready and at hand, their military capabilities primed should Russia strike. With British oil supplies in Iran threatened, which, in turn, threatened the readiness of their military, who else does the UK turn to but their powerful cousin across the pond, the US.

The Eisenhower Administration was on board, eager to flex its muscles for all the world to see. Especially Russia. And Mossadegh’s aggressive takeover of a British company was interpreted by Americans in the throes of the Red Scare as one step toward Communism for Iran.

Of course, the US was then “obligated” to save the vulnerable Iranians from Communism and “preserve” democracy”. Yep, the same old recycled story of preserving democracy as a cover for interfering in the sovereignty of a country in order to control their valuable oil.

The funny thing is that Prime Minister Mossadegh was actually an advocate of democracy. He, himself, was a democratically-elected official. His political goal was to diminish the power of the station of Shah who was a hereditary monarch. See the conflict here? In the end, however, the CIA launched Operation Ajax.  This is how things went down:

  • Iranian officials and mafiosos were bribed.
  • Staged protests were bought and paid for in every major Iranian city.
  • CIA agents were boots on the ground, using radios to transmit coverage of protests to the US and other media around the world.
  • The media covered this news, effectively convincing their respective populations that Tehran was about to be overwhelmed by a populist army of rebels. (Is this beginning to sound familiar, you know, like Syria?)
  • Mossadegh saw the writing on the wall and resigned.
  • The new Prime Minister was a British/US puppet who restored oil monies to the British and the power of the throne to the Shah.
  • The Shah responded with a security crackdown: secret police, traitors prisons for suspects without hearing or trial, and a major propaganda campaign to practically deify the Shah in the eyes of all Iranians.

Considering the outcome of the operation, it’s pretty easy to see that the “preserve democracy” justification was a sham.  The West’s only interest was to get rid of Mossadegh because the only goal was to preserve British control of oil interests. So long as the Shah followed the program, the CIA was more than happy for this bloody tyrant to stay in power.
As it turns out, the CIA, British and Americans were no real friend to the Shah. They stood idly by while Communists and radical Islamists oranized secretly right under his watchful nose. It took more than a quarter of a century but, eventually, these rebels rioted and drove the Shah right off his throne. This was followed up with massacres of those who supported the Shah and any foreigners in Iran exploiting oil interests. Children were not spared.

What happened next is the installation of the Shah most of us are more familiar with, Ayatollah Khomeni. And he was incredibly ruthless, loyal to none. Once in power he turned right around and slaughtered the leftists who had led the rebellion that ousted his predecessor. What a reward for loyalty! Tens of thousands were imprisoned. This is when the famous hostage crisis at the American Embassy occurred during the Carter administration.

Neighboring Iraq took full advantage of the chaos. They invaded Iran on their western border. It is this key invasion event that created a ripple effect of events that are still unfolding today in all that is going on in the Middle East. Because, if not for the original interference of the CIA in 1953 that resulted in a political and monarchal coup in Iran, the de-stabilization and continued conflict for superior power present today would not have resulted. Iran had been, up until that time, a stabilizing seat of power in the Middle East.

By organizing a revolution the CIA set the stage for Islamic radicals and political rebels to flourish. Nw these rebels and radicals knew that there were powerful nations willing to arm and supply them if profit and oil interests would be in their favor by doing so. The precedence was set for the US and UK to exploit mercenary Middle Eastern rebels and radicals as a means to maintain Western control of Middle East oil reserves. They would use these assets to threaten a leader who stepped out of line or replace a leader who dared to go rogue.

The gringa knows that lots of people like to blame the war on terror on George W. or other contemporary political actors. The reality is that the seeds were planted much, much earlier in history for this poisonous tree that is bearing toxic fruit today.

Were Ancient Giants Vegetarian Intellectuals?

What are some of the most common references for giant humanoids? The Christian Bible, European legends and fairy tales, cultural folk tales, the Q’ran, ancient Chinese mythology, Hindu mythology, ancient Norse mythology, and the list goes on and on.

What about artifacts? Is there archaeological evidence to support the existence of a giant humanoid race in earth’s ancient history? Of course, there are lots of fringe science groups who claim all sorts of archaeological evidence indicating a giant race. The most credible testimony, however, would come from accredited colleges and groups like the Smithsonian and National Geographic who have conducted exhaustive efforts to verify claims of researchers. So, what do they say?

Well, sometimes that’s not always clear. News agencies have published reports referencing respectable institutions. These types of hoaxes have been going on for some time. However, with the advent of social media and its ability to create viral content, once a fake story is out there, it is difficult to ever overwhelm it with the truth. Especially if the truth is boring.

But, dear reader, the gringa says, “Not so fast!”. Although a fake news story about National Geographic discovering giant remains did occur, a REAL story about REAL giant humanoid remains WAS published by National Geographic itself. See how confusing chasing the truth can get? So, let’s disseminate some of the more common giant-related news stories and separate fact from fiction.

FAKE News: Published in 2014 by World News Daily Report, an article claimed that the US Supreme Court ruled in a case that would force the Smithsonian Institute to de-classify documents that covered up an archaeological find in the 1900s of thousands of giant humanoid skeletons. And plenty of fake pictures accompanied this fake story. Unknown to many readers of this “news site” is what is clearly stated in the website’s fine print: it is a news satire publication. In other words, they intentionally publish fake news. So, reader beware!

FAKE News: In 2004 a hoax was perpetrated involving a doctored photo of an “archaeologist” who had uncovered the remains of a giant in a dig in Saudi Arabia. National Geographic was credited as funding the expedition and breaking the story but that was simply untrue. Stories like this often have a financial motive to stimulate tourism.

REAL News: Published in 2012 by National Geographic is a report on ancient skeletal remains of a giant humanoid in what would have once been ancient Rome. The entire skeleton was intact and stood, get this, a whopping 6’8″. Yeah, not fake news but not really that much of an impressive “giant” either. Although this ancient Roman would have stood head and shoulders above his contemporaries, by today’s standards, among many Americans and Europeans, um, not so much. He probably wouldn’t even generate a second glance at the shopping mall. If he played on a professional basketball team he would simply be “average”.

Now, there is no doubt that occasionally a person is born with a genetic condition that will result in giantism. But the question about the past is if an entire race of giants existed, not just a blip on the genetic radar from time to time.

And think about this. Giantism is really a matter of perspective. In the US, the gringa’s considered short at 5’4″. However, I was in for quite a surprise the first time I traveled outside the US to a south-of-the-border country. In photo after photo of the gringa with locals or family from Peru, I am, practically, a giant in comparison. There is actually a related story that is quite amusing.

On one of our first trips to Peru we planned to go to the deep jungle. It is difficult for villages to get US goods, especially textiles. I decided to pack favorite name-brand clothing and shoes and give them all away when we arrived. While there I would purchase locally crafted textiles. Sure, the gringa arrived home with a wardrobe that was intrinsically linked to Incan culture, bright fabrics, vibrant patterns, etc. The only problem was that “pants” were “pedal-pushers” and “long-sleeve” shirts were actually “three-quarter” sleeve shirts. As for shoes, the best I could find to fit my big American feet was a pair of men’s sneakers and several pairs of flip-flops. So, giantism is relative to time and place.

NEVER Debunked: In 1912 an archaeological dig conducted by Beloit College found giant skeletal remains in several ancient mounds, thought to be burial mounds, in Wisconsin. Beloit College is a credentialed higher education institution still instructing students today. The site was near Delavan Lake, which was probably a prime habitat location for ancient peoples. It is thought that humans inhabited the area as early as 1000 BC and at one point, a mound building culture thrived in the area for centuries. And, apparently, they were quite large!

The Wisconsin Historical Society states that archaeologial evidence indicates that more than 200 mounds were studied by the college in the 1800s. At that time the area around the lake was still populated by the Potawotomi Indians.

Delving into the mounds revealed skeletal remains of individuals ranging in height from 7’6″ to an extraordinary 10′. Their skulls were enormous, even by today’s standards. Even stranger, many had an extra digit on their hands and feet. Their jaws featured a double row of teeth and, instead of having incisors for their front teeth, there were molars. Considering that incisors evolved to tear the flesh of meat and tough-skinned fruits, it is possible that these ancient giant humanoids were vegetarians. There was also evidence that they were different races.

This was not the only archeological dig in Wisconsin to find giants interred in burial mounds. They were also found in Maple Creek, Lake Mills, and Lake Lawn Farm. The Wisconsin remains have never been debunked as a hoax. So, they are either the real deal or the most successful prank ever perpetrated on the historical sciences communities about ancient mound builder societies.

JUDGE For Yourself: This is the story that the gringa hopes is true. Although skeletal remains were not found in an ancient Prague Castle to indicate a past population of giants, there is evidence to suggest that Slavic giants did exist and that they might have been scholars and intellectuals. The gringa’s talking about the legendary “Giant Library of Prague Castle”. Considering, however, that curators of the castle’s historical artifacts claim no connection with the photograph that gave birth to this legend, and no giant tomes have ever been found, the gringa believes she must remain disappointed.

And the credibility of these curators really shouldn’t be in question. Prague Castle is the largest castle in the Czech Republic. Construction began in 880 and was inhabited by royalty well into the mid-1900s. Wars often resulted in damage but the castle would faithfully be repaired. Now accessible to the public, visitors can enjoy acres upon acres of gardens, stables, historical architecture, period furniture, priceless art and the coveted opportunity to take a peek at the Czech Crown Jewels.

But even if no giants ever lived there and the library features no books big enough to swallow the gringa whole, it is still a delightful and entertaining prospect to imagine giant Czech kings and queens. The gringa can picture in her mind’s eye a sedate and very mindful giant mentoring a pint-sized human who sits upon the knee like a child. Perhaps they argue heatedly over a particular philosophical point, the tiny human hopping up to stand on the giant’s lap, attempting to make eye contact and poking a stubby finger into the giant’s chest in frustration, trying to make his point. And then there would be the rumble of speech that would come forth from enormous lungs and vocal chords that might create enough force to blow back the itty-bitty antagonist’s hair from his face. The good-natured, intellectual giant would chuckle at the audacity of the little creature. His good humor would surely be infectious and the two would soon be best friends again. The gringa can totally see this happening. But, alas, it can only happen in our imaginations! But, what else is our imagination for?

What Really Is Out There?

Just about everyone, at some point, has asked themselves the question, “Are we alone in the universe?” Although most people are satisfied to follow up this question with non-committal discussions, others take it much farther. There are those, like the gringa, whose insatiable curiosity simply must be satisfied. You see, the curious types like myself are the people who walk up every single aisle in the grocery store even though their shopping list may only have four items on it. We simply must exhaust every possibility!

Once you start digging about credible resources like NASA and other science communities, you discover that there is plenty of fodder for the ET rumor and conspiracy mills. There is so much strange space stuff out there that NASA has a inspired series on the Science Channel entitled “NASA’sUnexplained Files”.  Now, keep in mind that the material comes from NASA but any oddball conspiracy theory comes from people unaffiliated with NASA. So, the gringa’s advice is watch for pleasure 100% of the time as well as with a critical eye so you don’t get sucked in to fringe science thinking that it’s “real” science endorsed by NASA. From 2012-2016, dozens of episodes have aired.  Here is one  of the gringa’s favorites:

Say Cheese!  James McDivitt, a NASA engineer and astronaut during the 60s, claimed that he filmed a UFO. The episode entitled “Something Out There” recounts his story. McDivitt served on mission Gemini 4, June 3-7, 1965. The Gemini 4 space capsule was orbiting Earth. McDivitt recounts that fellow Astronaut Ed White was sleeping as they drifted. Engines were off and instruments powered down. The gringa then supposes that McDivitt was probably quite bored. No one to talk to and nothing else to do. Of course he was watching the scenery pass by. And, suddenly, he claimed that a cylindrical white object appeared. Because he lacked any reference point for distance, he could not even guess at its size. However, being a well-trained astronaut, McDivitt did not remain frozen in awe, wonder and fear. He grabbed a camera and began filming. NASA will naturally dismisses it as space debris. You can look at the old footage and decide for yourself.

There are so many interesting episodes and amazing mysteries the gringa can’t possibly list them all. But my dear readers may be interested to explore the possibilities of:

  • Thousands of objects detected by the Hubble Space Telescope that travel faster than the speed of light.
  • Antananarivo, Madagascar, August 16, 1954, around 5pm, hundreds of thousands of people witnessed a UFO described as an “electric green ball” descending from the sky near the Palais de la Reine.  Among the witnesses was  Air France military officer Edmond Campagnac and an Air France technical director.  They testified that the UFO seemed to be at an altitude of about 50-150 meters, resembled a plasma shaped lens, was about 40 meters long, comparable in size to a DC4 aircraft, disappeared behind a hill and then an explosion was heard. A silvery metallic object flew behind it, was about the same size and produced blue exhaust flames. Both were completely silent. As the craft passed over, power outages were experienced but quickly resumed. Dogs were howling like crazy and other animals exhibited signs of panic. As the craft traveled over a farm, herds of animals were seized with panic and began to stampede in different directions.
  • Is Venus where the ancient ancestors of Earthlings are from? NASA says if the right ingredients are there, an Earth-like civilization on Venus would have been possible billions of years ago.
  • Is there 2,000-year-old evidence that the Earth once had 2 moons? And could we actually have 2 moons right now?
